For groups operating on Maine’s waterways, Katahdin Rescue offers combined wilderness medicine and river safety courses. These combined courses allow for deeper exploration of context-specific scenarios and situations, along with the opportunity for your group to practice skills as a unit.

Level of Instruction
Lead instructor, Christine Rholl, combines a background in academia with extensive field experience. This unique combination brings a variety of teaching styles and theory alongside a deep understanding of Maine’s wilderness activities and environments to Katahdin Rescue courses.
Emphasis on hands-on coursework
Courses at Katahdin Rescue are hands-on and participant-driven. Groups will participate in realistic and relevant scenarios, skills labs, and mini-scenarios throughout the courses.

Many instruction companies claim to offer customized courses. Katahdin Rescue, however, promises customized, context-built delivery for each participating group. Before a course, the participating group will complete a pre-course customization survey so our instructors can best tailor scenarios and equipment to each group’s needs.
